Salgado Investigations Appoints New Regional Director for Chile

If you are a regular reader of the PI’s Diary, you will know that Archangel Research Limited recently started trading as Allied Detectives in the UK (see Salgado Investigations Goes Through The Change) and Salgado Investigations remained as the trade name for its investigative services in Chile.

After a rigorous selection procedure, we are proud to announce that Rodolfo Marcelo Francois Zuniga has become the Regional Director for Chile. Rodolfo has been receiving one to one intensive tuition in the UK from Allied Detective’s Regional Director, Jorge Salgado-Reyes. Rodolfo is also studying for his Edexcel BTEC Advanced Private Investigation Level 3 Diploma and hopes to pass it with flying colours.

Rodolfo will take over the running of our Santiago Office in Chile and take the brand to new levels as Chile’s best Private Investigations Agency.

Part of Rodolfo’s duties will be the complete re-organisation of the Santiago office and the implementation of a new marketing strategy for Chile.

The quality of the Spy Sunglasses DVR is amazing

I recently bought the Spy Sunglasses DVR prior to offering it for sale on The Virtual Spy Shop as I wanted to be sure that the quality and looks of the device was acceptable from an investigators point of view.

I used it to record a process serve the same day as the footage recorded on the video below but am unable to show it as the case will almost certainly go to court.

I then recorded the following footage from my car and was blown away by the crystal clear recording obtained. The video is sharp both in the foreground and in the distance. I have no hesitation in selling this device on my Spy Shop.

Salgado Investigations goes through the change!

You may have noticed that when you arrive at our website, you get transferred to the Allied Detectives site. Even when you search for a keyword like “Private Investigator” and you click on the Salgado link it may take you to the allied site. Well Salgado Investigations has become Allied Detectives! There I have said it now and published it on the internet.

So why Change?

Sometimes a simple change of name can unlock the potential that was there all along. Celebrities do it all the time. They know that if you want people to remember you, it helps to have a name that sticks.

For us, it was just a case of outgrowing the name we started out with. ‘Salgado Investigations’ fitted us fine in 2006, when we began trading as a sole trader offering investigation services. It still worked for us 2 years later, when we’d reached page one on Google. But since we’ve joined up with Trident Investigations, we’ve got that bit bigger. In fact, between the two of us, we can now handle treble the amount of instructions as before with the potential for much more.

Salgado Investigations will still exist as a trade name catering for Investigative Services in Chile and Latin America and Allied Detectives in the UK and English speaking countries.

As a national company, we need a name and a brand that will be recognised anywhere. The name Allied Detectives brings together our respective trading names. It’s perfect for us because it’s short, memorable and describes our future growth potential in the PI Industry.

Apart from the new name, we’ll be carrying on as usual. We’re proud of our values. We’ve got to know our customers, and have found that the best way to provide investigative services is to treat every person individually and with respect. That’s something we’re definitely not going to change.

There are some interesting investigations blogs out there

I was browsing the internet (as you do) and came across some quite good articles made by private investigators. They were mostly by American investigators. Is it just me or are we here in the UK a bit backwards with using the internet? Anyway I digress. I have complied a small list on some of the blogs, articles and forums out there.

Here’s a real interesting article on “real-time tracking on Microbloging Search Engines“. PI Buzz is the official blog of PI Magazine.

And another article again by Tamara Thomson is Social Networking for Investigators

This is the blog section of e-legal gathering the Uk’s 1st “open” forum for Private Investigators. The good thing about this forum is that members have a blog section also so they can blog about anything even if they don’t themselves have a blog on their own websites.

One of the ELG blogs is written by a female PI and winner of the newcomer of the year award from WAPI, Maria cooper from Warwickshire Investigation Agency. Her blog is called “The life and times of a woman PI” and the article is Pulling in the professionals.

Another is by my business partner Neil Sheppard entitled “True life tales from the Trident Case Files” His article “Sex, Lies and Videotape” Is very funny. Have a read and tell me what you think.
