New burglary techniques

Security is a concept often talked about here, but rarely practiced.
This news report is a description of how a burglary can happen, (what the Americans call a ‘home invasion.”)

Chile has a similar concept which is named ‘portonaso,’ where the burglars attack the victim as they arrive home with violence or the threat of violence and overwhelming numbers and weapons. The aim being to steal a high value item like an expensive car.

With Xmas coming up, burglars will be targeting homes in order to obtain all the presents under the tree.

As a surveillance operative, we are taught that places where we go to habitually are where we let our guards down. Our homes is such a place.

Be extra careful as you arrive home or when at home. Merry Xmas.
